A curious disciple once asked, “O wise one, what is the greatest act of courage a person can show?”

The sage smiled, admiring the depth hidden in the simple question. “The greatest courage,” he said, “is to begin—and then to finish what you began. The first step is always the hardest. It demands the strength of your mind, heart, and will. But once you take that first step, the rest of the journey unfolds with every effort you make. If you’ve already begun, the only challenge left is to persevere until the end.”

The disciple reflected on these words, realizing how often fear of failure stops people before they even start.

Learning: Many lives remain unchanged because of one step left untaken. Take that first step today, for tomorrow your journey might transform into something extraordinary.
